History of winemaking

The first wine-growing associations began to emerge in Slovakia immediately after the war. Our winery was founded in 1948 by 87 founding members who farmed 65 hectares of vineyards and orchards, and this base grew over time to 300 members and more than 250 hectares.
Although the vineyards have now given way to the growth of the city and construction, today we, the children and grandchildren of the founding members, still cultivate this heritage with the same respect and love. We still have the winemaking craft in our own hands - we pick the grapes ourselves, press them and process them under our own roof using modern technologies into wines of excellent quality.
Bratislava viticulture
Our vineyards are located in the Bratislava region of the Malokarpatska wine region on the southern and southeastern slopes of the Malé Karpaty Mountains. We grow our vines here in a climate favorable to vines on loamy-sandy, slightly rocky soil, which is known for its rich mineral composition.
This unique soil terroir is suitable for growing the traditional varieties of Franconia and Müller Thurgau. However, in our vineyards you can also find the varieties Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Irsai Oliver or the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Neronet.
We value the work of our ancestors, that is why even today we use non-chemical methods of vine protection and green fertilization in our vine cultivation and adhere to the principles of organic farming. We use modern vinifiers for processing and computer-controlled refrigeration helps us during fermentation.
This way, even after decades of traditional craftsmanship, we are able to bring the excellent wines of our ancestors to your tables.
